Why These Books?
I chose these books because I'm drawn to stories about people working through love, loss and hard decisions. I enjoy learning about how different life challenges are being tackled if it were to occur. Evelyn Hugo and It Ends with Us are both character-driven and emotional, Born a Crime shows real life told with humor, and A Good Girl's Guide to Murder gives me a puzzle to solve. A Little Life, which I'm reading now, is the most emotionally demanding of the group.
My next two are lighter on purpose. After a heavy book like A Little Life, I want something warm and easy to get into (something I can read for fun and entertainment), so You and Me on Vacation is first. The Fine Print comes second because it's another quick, enjoyable read that keeps me in the habit of finishing books.
